Description

This has been something that's been in the works for some time now and finally I have it all sorted set up, big thanks to my friends on Fanfiction such as LoverofGames www.fanfiction.net/u/2757225/L… helping me out with writing down the lore.

Also if you could not tell the red dots represent the location of capital cities.

The Gallapois Isles are a collection of four different nations; Highthrone, Albion, Gaulue, and the Ustulo Imperium. While independent of each other all four nations coexist and cooperate to a great extent with each other both in peace and in war against foreign invaders as they boast the strongest navy in the known world. Albion in particular enjoys a particular peace and safety; for it is home to Heaven-capital city of the Angels and host to Mayron; the oldest and most experienced Angel that yet lives. Having fought against the Demon's millenia ago and witnessing the fall of the Old Empire; he harbors a particular hate towards Verus Nox-a loathing that is returned with interest.

The Empire of Regnum is a divided state, ruled by Empress Arkaen. It is known for it's aggression and for having the second strongest military in the world. The Empire itself is divided into multiple provinces ruled over by Great Lords, who possess near-total authority over their own territories.

The Crown is the most feared and mysterious nation in the world. Ruled by the Necromancer Verus Nox; the man responsible for the utter collapse of the Old Empire and the deaths of countless thousands all forays into the scarred, lifeless husks of the Old Empire have failed. The world now does it's best to ignore him; for the last time his wrath was triggered Regnum suffered a blow from which it has yet to recover; an entire province turned into barren wasteland.

The Old Empire is a barren wasteland; devoid of human or indeed, any sentient life. These wastes, utterly empty of any plants or animals, form a barrier that mortal armies struggle to tread-expeditions that are hampered even further by the necromantic magics that still linger, and the inhuman experiments of Nox's followers. Nevertheless minor headway is being made as Regnum has managed to grab hold of some eastern coasts as minor colonies as Alardon and Harna attempt to grab it the South and West respectively. Meanwhile Dracolia and other landless warriors drool over so much empty land; barren it may be.

Ostium is a minor human nation that is heavily forested. It has a large orc presence due to a significant forest in it's north, and it is notably weak and divided due to a combination of ever-present orc raids, border wars with it's other neighbors, and internal politicking in its capital.

Athait is a minor human nation that is completely landlocked and lies at the center of an intersection between Regnum, Ostium, Liberare, and Arelaun. It is small, but has maintained it's independence via a combination of neutrality in wars and being politically and strategically convenient.

Liberare is a minor human nation that possesses a significant amount of coastline. It has a sizable high elf population as well; concentrated in a forest to it's south and has been often involved in naval wars with Alardon and Regnum-wars that is has often lost. Now it's government keeps primarily to itself as pirates often use it's coastline to stage raids.

Arelaun is a minor human nation that is very close to Albion geographically. It has often shifted between launching naval raids and assaults on the Isles and conducting trade with them-whichever fits the ever-changing regime's mood.

Corlais is a minor human nation that possesses the traits of not having many neighbors it shares a border with and a coastline that is fairly far away from most other nations. It is fairly isolationist, maintaining only a light foreign presence in recent years.

Eskala is a minor human nation to the East. A significant amount of it's northern territories are fairly snowy and cold and it boasts significant trade and influence from the Dwarli; with whom they share a large border unimpeded by forest like with Ostium.

South Harna isn't a true 'nation' so much as it is a collection of independent city-states who's interests, while varied, all involve remaining independent of their northern neighbor. While shortly after a Civil War that left Harna politically divided in two South Harna remained strong, a series of weak leaders and it's own size quickly split divided the various cities after the leader that had led them through the Civil War died.

North Harna is a large human nation that is, while smaller, much more united than it's southern neighbor. Having only had one major part of it - Saolise - break off during the Civil War rather than disintegrate it's primary goal now is to reunite the desert lands under it's own banner.

Saolise is a minor human nation off the tail end of North Harna. Having broken off from the larger nation centuries ago as it took advantage of a weakened and out-of-position government, it is fiercely independent and engages in constant diplomacy and trade with other nations in order to make it better stand out from it's progenitor-and should an invasion occur, hopefully garner enough goodwill to receive military assistance. However, it's willingness to grow at any cost has given rise to a sizable black market and due to the fortunes that can be lost in the vagaries of the merchant trade there; has given rise to many pirates.

Alardon is a major human nation that, while having a mediocre technological base and land army, boasts a very strong navy and maintains a well-built network of trade routes. It's government is corrupt and many of it's leaders cruel, however; and it's constant aggression, assassinations, and invasions of it's neighbors has created many cold shoulders towards it. It's primary goal as of the moment is to prevent it's trade networks from either collapsing or being suborned and finally conquering the Isles.

Forlorn is a tiny city-state and the only major Bronze Elf settlement in the world. Unlike their brethren these elves specialize in smithing, mining, and metalworking and find many friends amongst the Dwarli for this fact. Thus, while small they have weathered many trials and tribulations due to the assistance of various allies.

Bendiron is not a true nation; rather it is a massive region of land in which many independent Dwarli holds and nations reside. It is the primary home of the Dwarli and due to the long memories of its inhabitants has become a fractal mess of alliances, grudges, trade agreements, non-aggression pacts, and more. Open hostility between the clans is only avoided due to the ever-present threat of Svarog.

Cartaxus cannot be called a nation at all; it's native and primary inhabitants do not engage in diplomacy on the world theater and those inhabitants that do engage in diplomacy are agents from foreign, surroundings powers. The only true diplomacy here is at the edge of a sword as multiple nations, from North Harna to Alardon to the nearby Dwarli holds of Bendiron, attempt to purge the other's influence and claim the land as their own.

The native tribes simply do not care as of the moment-wandering their homeland as they have for centuries. With ever increasing foreign presence, however, that may soon change as their homes and even cultures fall under threat from foreign invaders.

The Burning Isles are an independent city-state that is home to the worlds biggest collection of pirates; in essence it is a city of nothing but. Due to their location many of their raids are on Alardon's trade fleets or isolated transports when the seafarers assault the Vang'r Isles; a fact that these outlaws are more than happy with seeing as how many of them are former sailors and marines of Alardon that were treated poorly by their government.

The Vang'r Isles are not an independent nation; however it is up in the air as to who will take control of them next. Historically they have changed hands so many times that many texts have simply stopped bothering to update the current owners; seeing as how in six months some other group will have taken it next.

Marudd is the largest concentration of Ogre's in the world; fitting as how they are the only true society of Ogre's in the world. Marudd itself isn't a nation but rather a region, being comprised of multiple independent Ogre tribes. While they are most often concerned with internal disputes many find employment in other lands as mercenaries and guards.

Terra Tenebrae is in fact an actual nation; comprised primarily of dark elves. The region is very swampy and marshy, and water forms an integral part of both their day to day lives and their methods of waging war and even to their spellcasting. While peaceful, they will fiercely defend what they view as theirs or to right a wrong.

Artaxia is not a nation, but a region-a subcontinent. An untapped treasure trove of natural resources and land for growth it is only due to the presence of numerous primitive tribes and High elf manipulations that it has gone effectively un-colonized. The High elves have their own reasons for wishing Artaxia to remain untouched; for it's largest forest is home to their oldest and most significant city.
